"Cyberbullying" is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones."

* Empower yourself! Understand what cyberbullying is and the different ways it can occur. This will make you more aware of when it could be happening and prepare you to quickly take effective action.
* Never be friends with strangers online or people you do not really know. This can open yourself up to cyberbullying since you never really know who the other person is online.
* Don’t react to the bully. Often a bully will act just to get your re action. Your reaction could fuel more attacks. If the bully needs to be dealt with, have a trusted adult, such as a parent or a school professional, help you.

* Tell a trusted adult or teacher.

* Don't delete your messages, save them for evidence against the Cyberbully.
* Block a Cyberbully from sending you messages in the future.
* If a Cyberbully threatens bodily harm, inform your local police.
